Email templates for recruiters etc.
Dec 4 2012
I’ve seen a good number of emails about “great new opportunities” from recruiters, entrepreneurs and founders alike. That said, whenever I’m met with, what looks to be, a templated or unoriginal email/message, I feel the urge to throw desks. Yes. Desks. Given that it’s these people’s job to be able to reach out and connect [...]

Bootstrap!
Feb 13 2012
No, I’m not talking about Twitter’s sweet UI asset library (found here). I’m talking about business. Question, Why do people think they need a ton of money to get a business off the ground? Business founders that immediately turn their sights on funding either have no viable business model or don’t have the ability to [...]

Scared…
Jan 13 2012
Sometimes I get scared to release things or ask questions. Often times, it’s because I’m scared of making mistakes and being criticized. I believe this fear has made me miss a lot of opportunities and I fight with it on a daily basis. Unfortunately, this fear has begun to creep into other aspects of my [...]

When to Start Taking Your Business Seriously?
Jul 1 2011
Answer: The minute you take a serious first step. It’s fine to goof off and to take things at face value when your business has only one set of eyes on it. Heck, at that point it’s not really a business. As soon as you introduce that business to someone else though, you need to [...]

Failure can be flattering
Jun 8 2011
Over a year and a half ago I started a project tentatively named “jHooks”. It was supposed to be a very plain Javascript plugin that would allow your applications to implement a light messaging service similar to event binding and triggering. This is also, now, frequently referenced as “Pub/Sub” (Publish / Subscribe). I actually worked [...]

“Why doesn’t jQuery support *insert feature* natively?”
May 5 2011
Let me preface this blog post with the fact that I’m not on the jQuery Core team but have been helping out the project on the Design sub team (I get to make the website look nice and make updates to it). Either way, I think that I have a good grasp on this question, [...]

6 Companies You Should Want To Work For
Mar 24 2011
Over the past year or so I’ve been rather content with where I am professionally and haven’t looked for a new company to work for. That said, there once was a time when I considered seeking out companies for potential employment. Many of which I never approached but definitely had thought to on more then [...]

Seriously, What is HTML5?
Feb 24 2011
I’m tired of people getting confused. The W3C hasn’t done the best job at explaining what HTML5 is or means to a lot of people either. In fact, they went out of their way to say that, accompanying the HTML5 new branding, CSS3 and the JS API’s ( Geolocation, Websockets etc.), that are floating around [...]

Why !Ruby?
Dec 31 2010
Just a few days ago Nettuts featured a speech done by David Hansson, the creator of Ruby on Rails, where he outlines the more “philosophical” reasons why he believes Ruby, in general, is the right programming language to be using now and in the future. As mind-numbingly happy he seemed to be, about using Ruby, I can’t get past all the issues I have with the points he suggests are the pros to the language.

Structuring your Web Apps Files/Folders
Jul 12 2010
I’m always looking for the best way to structure my folders and files when building client apps so that I can easily navigate and update important features down the road. I’ve finally settled on a very streamlined approach to structuring when developing web sites / apps.
